The Pied Piper of Hamelin

In coloured rags a minstrel went up a sandy way, long ago
And rested under an apple tree, beginning to play his pipe softly
And then he played louder – his tune could be heard through the quiet country
Across fields and acres to the wood it was carried by the wind
Hearing this the countryfolks dropped their scythes and came to him
With open eyes and open mouths they wondered at the stranger
„Oh God, how well he plays! How long he plays! Such a wonderful sound!“

They gave sausages and bread to the minstrel before he went on his way
To Hamelin, the beautiful town at the the Weser, which was in trouble.
In Hamlin the rats scurried, there were rats in every place
They ate poor people‘s last piece of bread and the candles in the townhall
But the guards at the gates didn‘t let him in: „We don‘t need scum like you!“
And when he didn‘t go away they seized him and bet him in the face.
„He is poor, he is a stranger, he should better run away!“

The people of Hamelin prayed to the Lord but the Lord didn‘t react
Even the mayor lost weight and with a pale face he spoke:
„He who succeeds to free Hamelin from the rats with God‘s (or any other‘s) help
Will get a hundred pieces of gold and shall be granted citizenship.“
The minstrel at the town‘s gate heard it and said: „I am the man
Who can free the town from its scourge for that reward.
I whistle fine, I whistle long, it‘s a wonderful sound.“

He went through the narrow streets before dawn and played a high note
A sound which the rats heard and they followed him at once
He swam through the river Weser and the rats drowned by following him blindly
And ever since that day no more rat was seen in Hamlin
„Oh Mayor, the town is free so reward me now.“
But the mayor laughed:“Get it from the devil!
You are poor, you are a stranger, you better run.“

The minstrel went away, jaundiced and poor. Only the town‘s children
Went on telling how the mayor betrayed the minstrel.
But the man returned on the day of St John‘s and Paul, as a hunter with a red hat
Played the pipe, the children listened, these sounds they understood well
They tiptoed out of the narrow houses
With the sweet sound in their ears, they didn‘t want to go home again.
Hark, how sweet he plays and how long he plays, it‘s a wonderful sound!“

They complained to the pied piper about their bitter lot and fearfully and pale
They said:“We always have to obey, otherwise we are beaten so badly.
The rooms are dark an narrow and many children in this town
Are lucky if there‘s a bed of straw and a little to eat.“
At this point the stranger talked of a distant land
Where no child cries of fear and of cold, where everyone can be happy.
He talked fine, he talked long and the children beleived him.

Then they all moved away from the town, with the piper whistling so fine
They went out to the mountain and soon were no longer to see
They searched and searched and couldn‘t find, the distant promised land
And finally told their own children:“We take matters into our own hands now“
And since then they are working on a better world against war and mysery
Where no child needs to be hungry ans sad as the piper once promised
He whistled fine, he whistle long, it was a wonderful sound.

If children would rule the world

I.went for a walk today
Through friendly streets
The friendly streets of my city
Everyone turns to look at me
To look at me curiously

Just one small, playful, friendly child
Small and mischievous
Looked at me with trust
He was singing and laughing as he played
Laughing and playing as I walked away

If children would rule the world
And instead of war, they would order play
Men would have genuine smiles
And every street would be filled with singing

If children would rule the world
And instead of war, they would order play
Men would have genuine smiles
And every street would be filled with singing

Everyone turns to look at me
To look at me curiously
People are ready to judge me when I smile
When I smile, they look at me with malice

Just one small, playful, friendly child
Small and mischievous
Looked at me with trust
He was singing and laughing as he played
Laughing and playing as I walked away

If children would rule the world
And instead of war, they would order play
Men would have genuine smiles
And every street would be filled with singing

If children would rule the world
And instead of war, they would order play
Men would have genuine smiles
And every street would be filled with singing

Porncraving

It is known everywhere
The girls of Venus
The girls of Venus are infected by Venereal Diseases
In fact no one goes to the primaries/chief physicians to vote,
Anyone with problems of the urinary tract
But I am the chairman
And I don´t care about nothing
And further
I started again with HIV-love
And I don´t understand why you are upset
you have no reason
If I told you that the result is positive, really
You are all the porn I need
You are all the porn I need
You are all the porn I need
All the porn
Now I'm taking this sick word
And spread it to the whole electorate
This is a less invasive method
I will sit down in the armchair of a television talk show
And in a second I'll explain my program to you, so
Now I'm buying the TV, the love, newspapers and the Voodoo guru and I think
That this freedom is a little simple
As news, really
You are all the porn I need
You are all the porn I need
You are all the porn I need
You are all the porn I need
You are all the porn I need
You are all the porn I need
All the porn
All the porn
All the porn
And with a sick glow on the face
Saying: 'It's crazy not to carry this cross
Everyone thinks so much of themselves
So let it be, love,
And tell me, what am I to you?
What am I to you?

Beyond (Reprise)

And we will follow our star together
We will surge like a tide
The whole world is our home
We’ll go all the way
To the beginning of all beginnings
Where our very first dock remained
From the depths as one we will rise
We will follow the star

Even though I don't tell you

If I make it to stay quiet this time
and enjoy this moment with nothing that interrupts us
If nobody's looking for us
I can stand up on you
You keep so stable when doubts come to me

Where are you
I think about what you must be doing
I set a time-out every time
you leave
I can pretend I entertain myself
and I don't miss you

I love you so much and I know
sometimes I forget
but I can't lose
what life gives me
And I don't know what to answer
when you don't look at me
but you know I'm ok
Even though I don't tell you

You float on the room where you're in
And I'm trying to catch you, though you say that in every one of your lives,
you would choose me
How many mouths there are that want to eat
If they just knew what you can do when everything is over

Where are you
I think about what you must be doing
I set a time-out every time
you leave
I can pretend I entertain myself
and I don't miss you

I love you so much and I know
sometimes I forget
but I can't lose
what life gives me
And I don't know what to answer
when you don't look at me
but you know I'm ok
Even though I don't tell you

Even though I don't tell you
Even though everything's over
Even though I don't tell you
This may end well
Even though I don't tell you
even though everything's over
Even though I don't tell you
this may end well

I love you so much and I know
sometimes I forget
but I can't lose
what life gives me
And I don't know what to answer
when you don't look at me
but you know I'm ok
Even though I don't tell you
